Monday night football sees champions Manchester City take on relegation threatened Aston Villa. For the citizens, they are 15 points adrift of their neighbours United and can reduce the gap to 12 if City take three points tomorrow night.
In the recent past Aston Villa have picked up four points against Everton and West Ham but failed to get any points versus Arsenal. They will only need a point to move out the relegation zone but their woeful goal difference could be a problem come the end of the season.
City on the other hand took all 3 points off Chelsea last weekend and will need to win all their remaining games to stand a chance in the title race.
Aston Villa could be without captain Ron Vlaar due to a calf injury but he is close to full recovery. City are likely to be without their captain, Vincent Kompany as he too is recovering from a calf injury.
When these two teams last met in November, City put 5 past the Villians which also sent Paul Lambert's team into the bottom three.
To calm their relegation worries both Reading and Southampton, teams below them, both lost which will ease the tension around Villa Park.
If Aston Villa are going to cause an upset they may have caught City at the right time. The champions have won just one of their last fourth games and to make matters worse the title race could be dead come tomorrow evening.
The game also marks the 125th Premier League game for Manchester City under the reign of Roberto Mancini. That is also a record for City.
Although they are away from home, Manchester City have defeated Aston Villa 17 times in the Barclays Premier League.
The forgotten man for Aston Villa could provide hope. Darren Bent has scored 7 premier league goals against Manchester City.
With this in the mind the game could be tight as Villa will be as desperate for the result as City.
Score Prediction: Aston Villa 1 - 2 Manchester City
